5 Ways To Rest And Refresh Your Brain

Prioritize Sleep
Sleep is the top priority when it comes to resetting your mental health, but that can be hard to believe when you consider that one in three adults does not get enough sleep every night.
Start by prioritizing seven to nine hours of healthy sleep at night. Keep your sleeping environment cool and dark by covering windows and using an eye mask, if needed, to help you fall asleep faster.
Start Something New
Most people don’t like change but switching up your routine or introducing something new to your life can give your brain the refresher it needs to function adequately. Your brain loves patterns so much that it can get used to the same routine over time. So, if you want to give your brain a boost or a new challenge, start with adding something new to your life.
You can try a new exercise routine, a new puzzle, add a new hobby to your to-do list, or even adopt a dog. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone when looking for something new to try.
Mind Your Mind
It can be hard to slow down these days, but taking time to practice mindfulness, journal your thoughts, and practice meditation are beneficial ways to reboot your mental health.
Take time to notice your senses, recognize your emotions, unplug from social media, and have quiet time for yourself with no distractions, even if it is for only ten minutes a day.
Get Fresh Air Daily
Sometimes the key to happiness lies in the simple things, like the great outdoors. Research shows that spending just 20 minutes outside each day can improve your mental well-being. Additionally, breathing in some fresh air can help improve your ability to concentrate and focus.
Allow Yourself A Brain Dump
A brain dump is the practice of writing out all of your thoughts, anxieties, questions, needs wants, things on your to-do list, and everything else that is on your mind, and then reorganizing them into cohesive thoughts. Brain dumps are meant to give your mind clarity, organize your thoughts, and help you regain control of your life again.
