Mathematics is a collection of information, skills, and methods that can be used to describe, depict, and interpret; to forecast; and to explain patterns and correlations in Number, Algebra, Shape and space, Measures, and Data. Mathematics aids in the communication and clarification of meaning. Its language provides a strong and concise means of organising, manipulating, and communicating information.
The Mathematics curriculum aims to offer the child/studeny with a mathematical education that is both developmentally and socially appropriate. Each school’s mathematics programming should be sufficiently adaptable to accommodate pupils of varying levels of aptitude and should reflect their needs.
These will include the requirement for engaging and relevant mathematical experiences, the need to relate mathematics to other areas of learning, and the need to continue studying mathematics beyond the primary level.
