What is the difference between amine and amide?

Amines and amides are two different types of organic compounds. The difference between amine and amide is the presence of a carbonyl group in their structure; amines have no carbonyl groups attached to the nitrogen atom; the formula of amine is RNH₂ whereas amides have a carbonyl group attached to a nitrogen atom; the formula of amide is R-CO- NH₂.
