What are the principles of business ethics?

September 3, 2024 | by Bloom Code Studio

Business ethics involve the following principles:

  • Fairness: Treating everyone with equality and acting justly is an ethical practice in the workplace.
  • Honesty: Telling the truth is an essential part of professional ethics, whether in situations that take place in business-to-business interactions or between a business and a customer.
  • Integrity: Integrity means keeping your word to fulfill an obligation. In business, this can mean upholding contracts and workplace standards at all times.
  • Compassion: Business ethics shape how employers and employees treat others both within an organization and those outside of the company.
  • Accountability: Accountability in business ethics means you can answer for your actions and decisions without trying to place blame on another source or reason.
  • Lawfulness: Abiding by the laws that govern businesses is a necessary principle in professional ethics.
