How to inculcate creative thinking in children using Mathematics?

Listed below are a few strategies teachers can use to instill the skill of creative thinking in students:
- a) Make your lessons more relevant. Allow students to be active participants in the learning process rather than passive listeners.
- b) Begin by introducing a simple idea and gradually increase the difficulty level. Try to use basic examples to describe real-world difficulties.
- c) Put pupils in problem-solving settings by giving them challenges with multiple solutions.
- d) Encourage kids to ask questions and raise challenges. Encourage children to participate in learning activities on their own.
- e) Instruct students to examine their surroundings, people, circumstances, and so on, in order to establish the habit of observation.
- f) Experimentation with various learning methodologies such as assignments, projects, and so on.
- g) Try to create challenges that require diverse thinking and demonstrate numerous approaches to solving them.
- h) Do recognise pupils who come up with novel ideas.
- i) Strengthen your perseverance. Avoid getting bored while tackling tasks.
- j) Practise taking risks and engaging in innovative activities.
- k) Avoid inflexible and fixed problem-solving patterns.
